I LOVE WIMBLEDON!!!!!!
Just a brief little entry praising the best match I've seen so far in Wimbledon. Agassi is so cool. I remember when he had hair down to the shoulderblades and used to rip his shirt off and throw it into the crowd when he won, and now he's a mature, level-headed fellow with a shaved head and a calm, almost apologetic expression on his face while his opponent throws his racquet and yells in frustration. He's both the oldest man in the tournament and the highest-seeded (the number one seed lost already), and the match he played today against Younes El Aynaoui was amazing. The other guy was fantastic too, and they gave each other very few break points... the last two sets both went to a tie-breaker, and under pressure, it was all Agassi. But the shots were clever, the serves were SO hardcore, and both the opponents were polar opposites... Agassi was cool and calm the entire time, while El Aynaoui was a firecracker, grinning widely when he won points, smashing his racquet when he lost them. Overall, just a thoroughly, thoroughly entertaining match, with some memorable volleys and two incredible athletes to put it all out there for us on center court. Man! Can't wait for the rest of it!
Incidentally, did you know Agassi and Graf are married? Two of my fave players, joined in wedded bliss! I love this sport! :-)
