The Regulators

(This was a quiz I took from Tom L's LJ, so it really is irrelevant to diaryland readers, but I promised when I got a LJ to keep both entries scrupulously identical, and that's what I'm gonna do, so there! ;-))

Strength, huh? Well, I think the gal for strength is cuter than all the others... look at her little resolved expression!... so I guess I'm cool with it. :-) I definitely would have pegged myself the optimist!

So, I started reading King's "The Regulators" (under the pen name of Bachman, in case anyone else would like to look for it), and it made me cry like the emotional gal I am. God. When Audrey was writing in her journal about how happy Seth was on Halloween and ended it with "Fuck you, Tak! Fuck you! Fuck you, and I hope you die!" I was snuffling, and when Seth put his plan into action, that was IT and I just started crying. Man oh MAN, when even JKR failed to make me cry, King can still do the trick with his brilliant, tormented children and helpless but big-hearted adults. Well, he doesn't often do the brilliant, tormented children bit, but he often makes the seemingly helpless characters the ones who can do the most and HAVE to do the most under terrifying circumstances. I love Seth and Audrey. And Collie, and Belinda, and Johnny and Brad... "I feel like the president of South Africa"... and Cammie is such a bitch but even she served her purpose. Not one of his really good books, not even close, but still a satisfying bit of Stephen King goodness.
