Returning from her long hiatus...
So, I'm back! :)
Diaryland has been a little neglected of late... I've been caught up with all this moving stuff, and LJ is just easier to update when you're in a hurry. But as of September 10, I'll have internet in my apartment, and this thing'll get updated more regularly. ;)
So, Cornell rules. Seriously. Sure, it's a little elitist, a little too wealthy, perhaps a bit enamoured of itself, but all in all, it's a great place to learn and an awesome place to hang out. There was this bar, Stella's... and the Chapter House has this awesome beer called Raspberry Lambic. It's sooo yummy. My profs are fantastic, my fellow students are really sweet and fun, and there are even pals I've met just around town who are awesome too. This place is really liberal, but in a funny way... I think I'm going to start sending people postcards from the Co-Op when I run out of stationery. They're hilarious. Speaking of which, Genevieve, what's your street and apartment number? I know the rest of the address, but I always forget those.
The running is also amazing here. There are crazily steep and narrow streets that kill your quads, trails by the lake and the botanical gardens that are so relaxing, and trails in the forest that are a little bit of both. I got lost today and ran 75 minutes of heaven, making me think that I ought to start training for a half marathon or something... at least to have a goal out there, running-wise. Something that's not focused on the PhD. :)
I'm going to go study some immunology now (my two classes are immunology and the chemistry of signal transduction, so my semester class-wise is going to be hardcore awesome!!!! i love both these subjects so much!), and I hope all of your weeks are a little less busy than mine! Hope to see all of you soon!
