"If he pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He puts your guy in the hospital, you put his in the morgue! That's the Chicago way." -Malone to Ness, "The Untouchables"

It's so cold that I don't want to do work. I'm staying home today, because I see absolutely no point in dragging myself to the bus stop for a measely few hours in the lab, but I still have to write up some stuff and do some afternoon emailing with Jerrie regarding our plans for next week. Meanwhile, my hands are freezing and I'm wearing two layers of clothes and double-thick socks, and still, all I want to do is get back in bed and hide until spring.

I have the warmest room in our apartment, so it's REALLY sucky for the other gals. :)

In other news, it doesn't look like I'll be making the trip up to Vermont this year. We have an experiment scheduled for next Friday that I really can't miss. :) Oh well. This is probably God's way of telling me that I would have broken my neck anyway! :)

Finally, "The Untouchables" is a really sad, good movie. Even Kevin Costner couldn't spoil it for me, and that's saying something! And I don't usually like Sean Connery either (Hunt for Red October is the only thing I can remember enjoying him in), but he was quite awesome as the seasoned, merciless veteran who mentored Ness to victory and did the dirtier, more dangerous things that were necessary, even though he initially didn't even want to be there cause he knew he could end up dead. And Andy Garcia was darling, and De Niro... well, it goes without saying that he was divine, doesn't it? Good, good movie.

Now, I think I'm gonna read til noon, then make myself some lunch, and then I'll email Jerrie and see what we can come up with. :) Yay! Everyone have a great day! :)
